Local Search - Benefits to Your Business If you are a reader of my monthly online column with the Hutchinson Leader, you know that this month's topic is local searches. The article relates to people and how using the internet to find things locally can benefit them. Hand in hand with that concept is the concept of how your website can benefit your business locally. Your not ready to sell your product or service online to the global market? That's fine! Someday when you start thinking about it I'll still be here, ready to help you make the move. But don't forget to consider the benefits of exposure to the local market on the internet. Your website has a great deal of value to offer both you and your local customers today! As often as we are warned against it we often judge a book by its cover; that is why book covers usually have reviews or testimonials right on the jacket. Part of bringing new customers into your business is to demonstrate to them that you are the local expert in what you do. People will look at anything they can find to learn about you and decide long before they walk through your front doors exactly what they think about your business! Developing your website as part of your marketing strategies is powerful. There is a limited amount of information that can be presented in other mediums like radio, television, and printed advertising. You have there attention for a few brief moments, unable to tell them as much about yourself as you would like. Once the moment is gone; it is difficult, and usually impossible, for them to go back and review the information again. Think about this idea for a second. You can include your URL in your other advertising to give your customers something they can come back to often and learn everything there is to know about you. They can add your website to their favorites list and have you right at their fingertips anytime day or night! Your website is a 24 hour power packed marketing resource! You are not limited here. You decide how much information to present and how to present it! Dollar for dollar online marketing through your own website is quite reasonable. Successful local marketing involves all forms of presentation. People are always searching for information about local businesses. Weather they are Googling or looking at newspaper ads, yellow page listings, direct mail pieces, or just listening to their favorite radio station; you have an opportunity to direct them to your website. Once there, you can tell them all about yourself and bring them to your door step.
